Call to order 4:00 pm.
Motion to accept minutes from November 2n d – passed.
Committee Reports –
· Treasurer – January Executive Board meeting will present close out of 2018 and operating budget for 2019.
· Grievance – MOU’s signed for over enrollments. Payment agreed to by all involved. Longevity payments due to 10 teachers $750 each. Payment for summer work still unresolved. Career teacher unpaid leave.
· School Reform – New and existing committee’s city wide. Equity committee –
Consultant hired out of grant funds. Attendance Committee – Deeper dive into numbers – patterns –school specific etc…. Head start review. Staffing committee – Union is adamant about returning counselors to every school. TEVAL – Michele Sherban will chair.
· Finance – Requests – Junta $100 and WC Daycare $100 approved.
Old Business – Survey results have been distributed to admins. They will be shared at staff meetings or P.D.
New Business – Election Issues
Special services must have one Sped elected official and one “non-instructional representative. Both top voter tallies are Sped. Our lawyer will be contacted and by-laws adjusted. More to follow.
Situation at Barnard – Art teacher is scheduled to teach all 600 students in the building. Union will look into a resolution.
Clarification sought on number of Sped students in regular ED classes.
Thank you not from Jeff Alpert and the “New Haven Scholarship Fund”.
Final thoughts shared by outgoing Ex Board members.
