Call to order 3:55 pm.

 

Motion to accept the November minutes – 2nd and passed.

 

Committee Reports –

1.       Finance – Request from the board $300 for Food bank – 2nd and passed.

2.       Grievance – Introduction of guest – Brad Chernovetz thanked the board for their support at last Monday’s BOE meeting.  Questions from the board were answered by Brad.  Grievance process has begun over his involuntary transfer.  The Grievance at Barnard is also moving forward.

3.       Treasurer – End of the year report will be given at January 2016 meeting – New budget will follow for approval.

Old Business – None

 

New Business – Election ballots will be counted at the union office on Tuesday, December 8th.  AFT state is looking at cuts proposed by Gov. Malloy.  Initiative by AFT- to separate test scores from teacher evaluations.  Peoples World Amistad Awards – Dec. 6th at 4:00 pm at Coop.  Issue was raised at Truman over SPED student concerning toileting responsibilities.  SAA/NAACP issues with Dave and Tom are unresolved.  Investigation has not begun.

 

Building Issues – Too hot or cold?  Work orders should be placed first unle4ss conditions are extreme.  Then union should be contacted.  City has been responsive. 

 

Introduction of Guests – City-wide Restorative Practice Committee – Jason Bartlett, Gemma Joseph-Lumpkin, Kermit Carolina and Donna Morris.

 

A working draft of the code of conduct was presented.  Board was given time to respond and ask questions.  Any comments, questions and/or concerns can be e-mailed to Pat Delucia or Cameo Thorne.  They will bring them back to the committee.
