Motion to accept the minutes from September – 2nd and passed.
· Finance – Requests for donations. GNHLH – 100, Elm City Bowl - $100, Cross golf team - $250, First Calvary Baptist Church Dinner for Rev. Boise Kimber - $800 – All approved.
New Business – PreK – 8 Executive Board Vacancy – Richard Cordaway has stepped down. Dave has recommended Ashley Newton for the seat. Motion made and 2nd – discussion – unanimous vote – yes. Welcome Ashley.
Guest Speaker – Rev. Dr. Boise Kimber – Senior Pastor has proposed Inter-district Local Charter School modeled after Eagle Academy in the Bronx, NY. Starting at grade 4 and adding grades each year. All males to start and a lottery system of just New Haven students. Teachers will be NHFT union members and will meet with SAA and hold two community forums. More to follow.
Holiday Union Party – Friday, December 2nd at the Omni in New Haven.
Sick Bank – Union will work with Human Resource to be sure that everyone in included.
MOU forthcoming from Superintendent Garth Harries – Key cards for entry only and not to check times. Bereavement days – Five working days, not calendar days.
TIF – New Haven did not get the Continuation grant. Most awards went to rural districts.
CEPC – Tom will be setting up dates. Team will be assembled. First meeting will be in November. Refer to contract.
Contact working groups will be formed after November 7th.
