Call to order 3:55pm
Motion to accept the minutes from June – 2nd and passed.
Presidents Report – Two Executive Board Vacancies: Drew Kaptain has retired. Dave has recommended Iris Festa to fill the Pre-K 8 seat. Motion to accept – 2nd and discussion was unanimous. Welcome Iris!
Committee Reports – Finance – Request for CT Food Bank for $250 – Passed. True Ballot has been paid in full for the NHFT “climate surveys” and results. Stewards should have shared the results using personal emails.
Grievance – Career grievance was won by the union and the teacher is back. The city is appealing the coaching decision. Barnard – Union has won this grievance and the teacher was giving mandatory award. Union is working on grievance at W. Cross. Class overages have been minimal. Teachers have been paid and sizes are not within contracted limits. Sub chapter from Cedarhurst has filed a grievance on duties. More to follow.
Security – Issue at Co-op with card reader at back entrance with poor lighting. District is working to fix all entry door and cameras. School Security is looking to increase positions and provide better training. Card readers to enter schools should be installed in all buildings by the spring. MOU with city and union will clearly state these re not “time” monitors.
School Reform – 30 min. time plans remain as is in all schools. Need to be changed by May 15th each year per agreement with Principal and vote by staff.
New Business – Union has signed a T A for a contract extension for one year. Ratification vote will take place Tuesday, September 20th at W. Cross from 4-6 pm. Please bring ID.
