Nomination Notice NHFT, Local 933


New Haven Federation of Teachers, Local 933 Nominations for the office of President will be accepted by email and from the floor at a virtual meeting on the date, time and location indicated below.

The candidate elected as President will complete the current term of office ending December 31, 2021. The President also serves as a voting delegate to all national and state conventions.

Nominations will be opened beginning at 4 p.m. and will be closed promptly after the last call for nominees goes unanswered. If you cannot attend the meeting on time, you must make your nomination by email prior to the meeting. Nominations by email must be received by Election Committee Chairperson Breanna Evans at and no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.

All nomination correspondence must include nominator name and contact information, nominee name and contact information, and that the nomination is for the position of President. You may nominate yourself or another member. As provided in the Local 933 By-Laws, any member seeking to hold office must have uninterrupted membership in good standing of the Federation for at least one (1) year as of the date of their nomination. Any member in good standing may make a nomination. Candidates must accept their nominations at the nomination meeting or, if not in attendance, submit written acceptance by email to the Election Committee Chairperson Breanna Evans at and no later than 4:00p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021.

The election will be conducted by mail and ballots will be counted on June 15, 2021. Please ensure the union has your current address. Additional information regarding the election will be provided in a separate notice that will be mailed to all Local 933 members at a later date. If you wish to vote in this election and are not presently a member, you must return a membership card to the Union Office by 5:30pm on May 3, 2021.

Protest Procedure:

Please note that any member in good standing may protest the supervised election for a valid cause; such protest should be made directly to Election Supervisor Laura Corbin in writing at any time before, during, or within 10 days after the election.
